The third section of the Parisian Ghetto gives access to a church, a parc, a herbalist and more shops.

Known references[]

07.01 - Wanted posters[]

I think it is a wanted poster. On it you see three persons, and I recognize two of them. I aren't sure if the third one is Werner Von Croy. Unfortunately the wanted poster is very blur. There is also a girl on the poster and a red car.

07.02 - The Church[]

The church looks like similar to the St. Ambroise Church in Paris (11th arrondissement).[1]

07.03 - Metro Porte Dauphine[]

The metro station in Parc du Lune is based on a real metro station. It is called Porte Dauphine.[2] The building is a work of the French architect Hector Guimard.[3] The building is a good example of Art Nouveau style, which can be seen everywhere in Paris.

07.04 - Green monument[]

Yes! Finally. I was watching the news on the television and I saw an interview in Paris. I recognise the mysterious monument from the Parc de Lune. So I look it up, watching the stores in the news report to locate the mysterious monument it was at Rue Laugier / avenue Niel It is not a monument but a fountain and called the Wallace Fountain.

Wallace Fountains are public drinking fountains roughly designed by Sir Richard Wallace and sculpted by Charles-Auguste Lebourg. They are large cast-iron sculptures scattered throughout the city of Paris, France, mainly along the most-frequented sidewalks. They are named after the Englishman Richard Wallace, who financed their construction. For the large model, Lebourg created four caryatids representing kindness, simplicity, charity and sobriety.  Each one is different from her sisters, by the way she bends her knees and where her tunic is tucked into her blouse. [4]

07.05 - Street signs[]

There are some street signs in the third part of the Parisian Ghetto.

  • Rue de Piolet translates as "Ice pick street".[5]. I associate Ice pick with lobotomy [6] or the level from Kristina Boaz, inmate pets from the Sanitorium. There is a street in Paris called Rue Violet in the 15th arrondissement. But there aren't any references to alchemy..
  • Rue Jardin, or Garden street.
  • Parc du Lune is not based on a real parc in Paris (as far as I know), but the word "lune" or "moon" is an alchemical symbol that represents silver. And AoD is full of alchemical symbols this would fit. But it also played a role in the knight templar as a symbol.[7]

07.06 - Shops with familiar names[]

This is an easter egg! Read more here.

Unknown references[]

07.07 - Hotel Eloise[]

Near the Hotel Eloise there are windows with the same texts on it. It also appears in the Parisian Backstreets level.

07.08 - Tattoo shop[]

There is a Tattoo shop in the Parisian Ghetto. But it is not developed. There are tattoo examples on the wall.

07.09 - Herbalist sign[]

Looks like a reptile for medicinal usage.

07.10 - Wanted poster[]

It looks a bit like Angeline Jolie from her 2001 movie. But I don't know for sure.

07.11 - Deb Disques[]

Probably there is a mixed shop: tattoo shop and disque shop..

07.12 - Herbalist shop[]

The herbalist shop. On the floor is a moon and sun united sign. They represents silver (moon) and gold (sun). They are opposite but also the properties attract each other.

The dog doormat is really cool. But unfortunate very blurry. There can be a high resolution one found in the Paris2G.gmx.clz file (the level: St. Aicards Graveyard). It spells Bien venue or welcome. The same with the golden door, in fact the golden metal thingy is a sun. Which could be inter pretended as an Alchemical symbol for "gold".

07.13 - Iris Shop[]

Could be a lavatory or a clothing shop. The graffiti reveals a creapy face. Don't know what the shop really sells but it is closed.

07.14 - Iron wrought door[]

Unknown Iron wrought door.

07.15 - Gris boxing place[]

07.16 - Antique shop[]

It is hidden outside the level. But it can be seen in the first part of Parisian Ghetto when flying around.

07.17 - Faces[]

The faces could be what the French names as Mascaron. Unknown where they came from.

Trivia[]

07.18 - Yellow door[]

The yellow door can be found in the paris2c.gmx.clz file.

Near the Iris-shop and east from the church was original an area called Parisian Ghetto West. This was scrapped (obviously for a good reason). In this scrapped content is also visible a yellow door. [8]

07.19 - Unused posters[]

The posters can be found in the paris2c.gmx.clz file.

07.20 - Hidden Janice[]

Janice once had another location near Hotel Eloise. This can be seen with the Pizzadox program or if you have Nakamichi's patch then you can hit F2 and switch objects.

07.21 - Hidden cops[]

Two hidden cops in Parc du Lune. Those were scrapped.

07.22 - Pluit Noir password[]

After retrieving the magical box from the nightclub, the ex-janitor mentions the password "Pluit Noir".

This is an easter egg! Read more here.
