Lara enters her mansion, known as "Croft Manor" or simply "the gym," where the player can take control of Lara Croft and test out the controls.

Within Lara's home, players can find a mini assault course set in a former ballroom, as well as her swimming pool, kitchen, stairs, and other private rooms.

00.01 – INTRO FMV: Motor[]

The start of the level starts with a cutscene of her humble abode. You see a fountain with a fish and a motor. It's a Norton StreetFighter motor, according to an interview with Heather Gibson.[1]

00.02 – INTRO FMV: Lara's castle[]

In the intro FMV the front Lara's home looks a lot like Compton Wynyates as noticed by Boombandy on Tomb Raider Forums.[2]. Compton Wynyates is a Tudor country house in Warwickshire, England.

00.04 – Indiana Jones reference[]

It is the Ark of Covenant as seen in the movie of Indiana Jones - the Raiders of the Lost Ark. Indiana discover the ark of the covenant. Which is the secreted away in a crate and stored in a massive top secret government warehouse with hundreds of other crates. In Croft Manor we discover the ark of the covenant again and some more crates. [3]

Every castle has its fireplace to keep warm. This estate is no exception.

It is a translation of the Compton Wynyates interior.

Some unknown mosaics on the walls and flowers. Probably ancient Roman.

00.15 – Strange object[]

Probably a roman/greek object. Some say it is a fountain.. I don't know what it really is.

00.16 – Statue[]

It is hard to see what it is. But it has two broken arms so.. my first thought on my mind is the Venus of Milo. But that statue is white and this is blackish.
