Lara Croft returns from the archaeological dig and discovers that a group of soldiers has taken over the Louvre. These soldiers put poison gas in the louvre. Lara has to find a gas mask to access other places in the Louvre.
In a cutscene she encounters Kurtis who throws away her guns and takes the obscure painting. Martin Gunderson attacks Lara Croft and Kurtis, they are running in the Louvre, Kurtis throwing his Chirugai and a Chinese gong falls down and crushes a soldier. Outside the Louvre Louis Bouchard is waiting and takes her to where it all began..

- In the Louvre Galleries level is a control room. It has a sign: "P4 sec". This is a rebus for "Poor security" (P + 4 is poor). Realizing after all these years!
