About this wiki

This fandom wiki is a result of my time spent actively on Tumblr. I spent a lot of time researching the original image or the story behind that one image used in Tomb Raider: Angel of Darkness. Later, I also started doing Tomb Raider I and IV. I virtually roamed the streets of Paris with Google maps.

The games of Tomb Raider

I've played the Tomb Raider games to death. I started with Tomb Raider II on a Pentium I with 16 MB RAM and a Soundblaster that eventually gave up. Then I bought Tomb Raider III, but my monitor couldn't handle SVGA, so I exchanged it for a game called "RING I" based on the opera by Richard Wagner. Then came Tomb Raider IV, followed by Tomb Raider V, then Tomb Raider VI (also known as Angel of Darkness), and also Tomb Raider I.

While playing the games, I discovered that the developers reused real images. Images that I had seen in my own collection of ancient Egypt books but also books about mythology. Specifically, it was at the temple of Xian where Lara places the dragon seal. I had also seen that dragon seal in Neil Philip's book: The Illustrated Book of Myths, 1995.

Name of wiki and language

I'm aware that the Tomb Raider Art Encyclopendia has a spelling mistake. I created it like that at the time, and it's good to have a distinctive name.

I'm also aware that there are many language mistakes to be found in my articles. I'm working on improving them since Dutch is my native language. Fortunately, ChatGPT can help me with this. If you'd like to help as well, please feel free to do so.

Time consuming hobby

I created this wiki in my free time as a hobby. I also have another big hobby, which is Ancient Egypt. Both of my hobbies take up a lot of my time. Additionally, there are other activities that need to be done. At the moment, I'm not actively working on the Tomb Raider Art Encyclopaedia wiki.
